Super Bowl Review
On Sunday, February 7th, the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers went against each other in the 2021 Super Bowl at Raymond James Stadium. Despite all the COVID craziness, the players were still able to play against each other in front of a crowd of fans. Following social distancing practices, the coordinators of the game only admitted 22,000 people into the stadium.
With main team player Tom Brady, the Buccaneers were able to carry their team to defeat the Chiefs. The Buccaneers won as champions at 8-1 odds after they beat the Chiefs 31-9 in Sunday’s Super Bowl in Tampa, Florida. Brady was able to complete 21 of 29 passes for 201 yards and three touchdowns to no interceptions. With help from his teammates, Rondald Jones II had 12 carries for 61 yards and Leonard Fournette had 16 carries for 89 yards. The Buccaneers did do an amazing job on teamwork, assisting one another throughout the whole game.
On the other hand, Kansas Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes tried his best to help his team get that championship win, but it certainly was not his best performance. His pass at the end of the game did have an effect on the team. The incomplete pass came on the fourth down and early in the fourth quarter with Mahomes being faced by so much pressure and being chased about a solid 20 yards from the line of scrimmage. Mahomes made a dive throw toward the end zone with the ball realizing it while in midair, the pass then hit Darrel Williams right to the face and was dropped in the process of trying to catch it. This resulted in a turnover on the downs.
Due to the loss of the Chiefs, a lot of fans were disappointed in star player Mahomes because of this pass. It was only one of other mistakes that gave the game away to the Buccaneers.
