Fashion Trends Coming Back

Fashion+Trends+Coming+Back

Each decade has had its memorable fashion trends. From rocking bell bottoms and platform boots in the 70s, to neon bright colors with shoulder pads and permed hair, and then to chokers and plaid in the 90s, fashion has always been a substantial part of our culture.

The 2000s had its own moment with the low rise jeans and the Juicy Couture tracksuits. Celebrities like Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian could often be seen with these styles.

Today, multiple trends that we have seen in the past are coming back because of Tik Tok. Fashion accounts on Tik Tok post “outfit inspirations” and give information on where to get similar pieces of clothing.

As of lately, fashion trends from the 70s through early 2000s have become particularly popular. Many people were obsessed with high rise skinny jeans, but as of a few months ago, mom jeans made their way into the 21st century. They are honestly way more comfortable than skinny jeans.

Something I never thought would become popular again are low rise jeans. Personally I prefer high or ultra high waisted jeans as they look the most flattering on my body. But, some people are made for low rise jeans. They can be styled with graphic baby tees or crop tops along with sneakers.

Specific shoes are having another moment to shine.

Chunky sneakers and platform shoes used in the 80s and 90s have been getting more popular. High top converse sneakers, which were popular in the 80s and 90s, are another pair of shoes coming back to style.

Now let’s head on to hair.

Big voluminous blown out hair has also made a comeback. Tutorials on Tik Tok can be found of people using the Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer which gives you a blown out look.

In addition, curtain bangs, which were rocked in the 70s, suddenly became popular due to Tik Tok. Curtain bangs are longer bangs parted down the middle and swept to each side so they can frame the eyes and face. Right away, girls made their way to their nearest hairstylist to have their bangs cut into this style. They frame the face nicely and add depth to the hair.

Skunk highlights from the early 2000’s have made their way back. Many people actually try and avoid having these types of highlights. These highlights are very harsh, don’t look natural at all, and can be in big chunks instead of small sections of hair. As of lately, people have been asking for these types of highlights on purpose.

It seems like every few years, trends from past decades come back to have another moment in the spotlight.
