Amber Heard, an actress known for her role in Aquaman and her former marriage to actor Johnny Depp, was rumored to be fired from the set of Aquaman 2.

Heard is an American actress, born in Austin, Texas on April 22, 1986. She has starred in many films such as London Fields, 3 Days to Kill, and The Rum Diary, but probably is best known as Mera in the first installment of the Aquaman franchise.

Before Heard played her iconic role in Aquaman, she also starred in a movie called “The Rum Diary” where she met her ex-husband Johnny Depp, an award-winning actor known as much for his acting skills as his mercurial behavior. Heard and Depp married in 2015, but their relationship soon ended in 2016. Heard filed for a divorce in 2016, citing “irremediable differences.”  Heard then filed for a restraining order, claiming that Depp was abusive during their marriage. Depp denied it. He accused Heard of trying to blackmail him into a better financial settlement.

After four long years of battling out the settlement, Depp ended up coming up short after The Sun wrote an article calling Depp a “Wife Beater.”  Later in an instagram post, Depp stated that he had been asked to resign from his leading role as Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

“The surreal judgement of the court in the U.K. will not change my fight to tell the truth. and I confirm that I plan to appeal,” Johnny writes.  Depp also states that his life and career will not be defined by this moment.

Fans on social media became so outraged after Depp’s resignation from his role in Fantastic Beasts that they made a petition for Heard to step down from her leading role in the sequel to Aquaman. Over 1.5 million people have already signed the petition. 

Rumors have not yet been confirmed by the actress herself, or the Aquaman production, but it seems like Heard may be on her way to being pulled from the 2021 film Aquaman 2.
