Varsity player Braulio Avila is attending Segerstrom High School as a backup outside linebacker. Avila is currently a junior, but he has been playing football at Segerstrom since freshman year. As Braulio states, “I want football to be my career but I want to see where it takes me.”

Q: “How do you feel once you step onto the field with lots of people in the stands?”

A: “I feel the vibe they give off; the rowdy chanting gets me hyped up.”

Q: “What do you do to prepare yourself for the games?”

A: “What I do to get prepared is watch the other teams film, study it, and try my best during practice.”

Q: “What is your favorite part about being on the team?”

A: “My favorite part about being on the team is practicing with them, having fun, and winning games with them.”

Q: “What makes the team so successful?”

A: “The team is so successful because we play with pride. We pick each other up [because] for us, it’s not a team it’s family. We’re brother[s] and we love one another.”
