iPhone Season

iPhone Season

Tomas Alba, Section Editor

Every year, Apple introduces its brand new line of iPhone. This year’s lineup consists of the iPhone 11, and 11 Pro/Max. One of the big questions when a new iPhone is released is: is it worth the upgrade?

I’m here to break down what you need to know and to help you decide whether you should upgrade or not.

The entry-level device, and the most affordable, is the iPhone 11. The base model comes with 64GB, at a price of $699. The iPhone 11 is a more refreshed version of the XR. It comes in a wide variety of colors: white, black, green, yellow, purple, and (PRODUCT) RED™.

Making the upgrade from the XR, to the 11, can be a questioning idea. Apple has kept the same Liquid Retina Display from the XR model, in the 11. There are a few major changes, such as 1 more hour of battery life, tougher glass, Night mode, along with the new double camera, and the A13 bionic chip.

Then, comes Apple’s more high-end phones. The iPhone 11 pro starts at $999 and still comes with a base 64BG. The 11 Pro Max, starts at a price of $1099.  Both of these phones have the same features, except for the fact that the Pro model comes with a 6.5” display, compared to 5.8” for the 11 pro. These come in different variants in color: midnight green, silver, space gray and gold.

If you see a huge reason as to why you should upgrade, then by all means, make the upgrade. However, if you feel like your phone you have right now is just as fine, then do yourself the favor of saving a thousand dollars, and spend the money on something else. If you simply want the latest and greatest, then go for it. But ultimately, the choice is all yours.
