Lizzie McGuire was an original show on Disney. With the new introduction of the streaming service, Disney+, Lizzie McGuire is now getting a reboot.  A beloved show the first time around, Lizzie McGuire hopes to get the same charm it once had.

Disney+ is a new streaming service from Disney, it will bring many old shows and movies back and will reboot a few. It will be similar to Netflix in the sense that you pay to stream the shows/movies monthly.

“I never watched the original but now that I’m getting Disney + I’m going to be very interested in watching it,” said Daniel Acosta (10).

Lizzie McGuire was a show that started in 2001 and ended in 2004. It was widely regarded as one of the best Disney Channel shows. The plot of Lizzie McGuire is that of a middle schooler and her two friends, which are constantly in a popularity contest.

“I really liked the original and I hope it will be a better show,” said Ana Gonzalez (10).

Hillary Duff, the original Lizzie McGuire, and the rest of the McGuire family will return to play the same cast they were in the original show. The original cast was very popular among fans of the show and many fans are excited that the show will not be changing cast members.

“The original series holds a special place in the hearts of so many, and we can’t wait to introduce fans, both old and new, to an older, wiser, yet still perfectly imperfect Lizzie,” said Gary Marsh, President and Chief Creative Officer of Disney Channels Worldwide.

“We are incredibly excited to bring back one of the most popular Disney Channel series of all time along with some beloved and familiar faces,” Ricky Strauss, President of Content & Marketing for Disney+ said in a statement.
